The shipped CREDITS predated the fork's dependency work: 38 of the
modules in the current go.mod, among them lestrrat-go/jwx, go-tpm,
go-spiffe and the charmbracelet family, had no entry at all, while
entries lingered for modules no longer in the build. An attribution
file that silently drifts from go.mod is worse than none, so it is now
generated, not curated.
buildscripts/gen-credits.sh (make credits) rebuilds the file from the
licenses of every module go list -deps reports for the main package --
the set actually linked into the silo binary, so test-only and tool
dependencies stay out. Entries keep the established name / URL /
license-text layout. New over the old file:
- Modules replaced in go.mod are annotated with the repository that
actually serves them, so the pgsty/silo-console, pgsty/mc and
pgsty/silo-pkg forks are named next to their upstream import paths.
- Bundled NOTICE files are reproduced after the license text, which
Apache License 2.0 section 4(d) requires when redistributing; 23
modules carry one.
- minio/colorjson, minio/csvparser and minio/filepath publish no
license file at all; they repackage Go standard library code and
their sources carry the Go Authors' BSD-style header, so the Go
project license is reproduced for them with a note saying why.
- The Go license text itself comes from the pinned golang.org/x/sys
module rather than GOROOT, because Homebrew's Go omits
GOROOT/LICENSE and the module copy is version-locked.
check-gen now runs the generator and fails on a CREDITS diff, the same
treatment go.mod and go.sum already get, so dependency changes cannot
leave stale attributions behind. Output is deterministic: two runs are
byte-identical, and LC_ALL=C sorting plus version-pinned inputs keep it
that way across machines.

removes contentious usage of mutexes in LRU, which
were never really reused in any manner; we do not
need it.
To trust hosts, the correct way is TLS certs; this PR completely
removes this dependency, which has never been useful.

Bonus: use `x-minio-time` as a nanosecond to avoid unnecessary
parsing logic of time strings instead of using a more
straightforward mechanism.
we have been using an LRU caching for internode
auth tokens, migrate to using a typed implementation
and also do not cache auth tokens when its an error.
With this commit, MinIO generates root credentials automatically
and deterministically if:
- No root credentials have been set.
- A KMS (KES) is configured.
- API access for the root credentials is disabled (lockdown mode).
Before, MinIO defaults to `minioadmin` for both the access and
secret keys. Now, MinIO generates unique root credentials
automatically on startup using the KMS.
Therefore, it uses the KMS HMAC function to generate pseudo-random
values. These values never change as long as the KMS key remains
the same, and the KMS key must continue to exist since all IAM data
is encrypted with it.
Backward compatibility:
This commit should not cause existing deployments to break. It only
changes the root credentials of deployments that have a KMS configured
(KES, not a static key) but have not set any admin credentials. Such
implementations should be rare or not exist at all.
Even if the worst case would be updating root credentials in mc
or other clients used to administer the cluster. Root credentials
are anyway not intended for regular S3 operations.

not correct. It needs to be implemented differently without adding a new
version.

DNS refresh() in-case of MinIO can safely re-use
the previous values on bare-metal setups, since
bare-metal arrangements do not change DNS in any
manner commonly.
This PR simplifies that, we only ever need DNS caching
on bare-metal setups.
- On containerized setups do not enable DNS
caching at all, as it may have adverse effects on
the overall effectiveness of k8s DNS systems.
k8s DNS systems are dynamic and expect applications
to avoid managing DNS caching themselves, instead
provide a cleaner container native caching
implementations that must be used.
- update IsDocker() detection, including podman runtime
- move to minio/dnscache fork for a simpler package
