Feng Ruohang cd1f6cec3c fix: drain canceled storage commits before releasing object locks
Wait for admitted data and metadata mutations, preserve overwrite backups during rollback, and reject rollback of a different generation. Report conflicting or unreadable pool metadata as read-quorum failures instead of exposing stale copies. Add barrier-driven local/RPC and multi-pool regressions for cancellation, self-copy, rollback and old-value reads.

Feng Ruohang 3c82748e14 fix(pools): retain authoritative copies until bulk cleanup succeeds
Resolve each addressed version under the shared write lock, keep bulk I/O parallel within cleanup and authoritative-deletion stages, and preserve replication response identity on errors. Treat reliable absence as successful physical cleanup on retries without accepting it for marker or replication-state writes.

Cover execution-time faults, partial cleanup recovery, mixed authoritative pools, response identity, null marker ordering, metadata uncertainty, cancellation, and concurrent PUT. Run the delete consistency regressions under race in CI.

Feng Ruohang 1748f62c7e fix(pools): preserve delete markers and recheck migration cleanup
Move solitary and null delete markers instead of dropping them, including
idempotent UUID marker retries. Check that a reader's source version still
exists before moving it, and preserve the established read winner for
conflicting timestamp ties.

Retire only the versions that were successfully moved while holding the
pooled object lock. Recheck the source and retained copies before cleanup,
so concurrent deletes and uncertain destination reads cannot revive data.
Count remaining markers when verifying decommission completion.

Add two/three-pool walker, history, purge, concurrent-delete, read-fault,
and timestamp-tie regressions.

Feng Ruohang 87c1c6b3dc fix(listing): confirm current groups and bound recovery lock waits
Distinguish all-drive native absence from read uncertainty and confirm current pool targets before omitting a recovered name. Cover both existing single-pool writer lock domains, release before encoding or output, and preserve cache terminal errors without blocking the HTTP error response on remote publication.

Keep ordinary entries free of recovery I/O and locks. Bound the selective short lock-conflict wait, preserve existing retry intervals and quorum, and make retries cancelable with late-grant cleanup coverage. Restore the original raw listing callback and unchanged scanner/healing/migration callers now that recovery errors originate in the merger.

Add deterministic deletion, pool ordering, cache, lock-routing and cancellation regressions to race CI. Focused cmd/dsync/lsync race suites and verifiers pass; complete current-main integration and bare-binary performance validation are recorded in PR #239.

Feng Ruohang 3196480da9 fix: enforce retention authorization and immutable version writes
Close SN-2026-015 by requiring PutObjectRetention with request-derived
condition keys before reading bucket or object state. Weakening unexpired
GOVERNANCE retention also requires the bypass header and permission. Treat
retention removal as zero remaining days and avoid duration saturation for
distant dates.

Close SN-2026-016 by requiring replication trust for caller-selected target
version IDs and checking persisted multipart targets and locked null
versions under the destination write lock, including across storage pools.
Preserve versioning transitions, trusted replication and batch Snowball
version IDs, and fail closed when lock state cannot be read.

Add authorization, concurrent lock-update, multipart transition, cross-pool,
configuration-failure and retention-boundary regression coverage. Validate
with make test, focused race tests and the original independent probes.

Julien Laurenceau f480086b6b fix: return 503 instead of 404 when commit metadata is missing
When the staged xl.meta disappears between the data rename and the
meta-file commit inside RenameData(), the affected drives return
errFileNotFound. An in-quorum errFileNotFound is reduced by
reduceWriteQuorumErrs() and previously surfaced as:

- IncompleteBody (400) from PutObject(), misattributing the failure
  to a client disconnect, or
- ObjectNotFound (404 NoSuchKey) from CompleteMultipartUpload(),
telling clients the object is absent so they skip retries.

Map errFileNotFound at the commit step to a dedicated internal
errCommitMetaMissing, convert it to errErasureWriteQuorum in
renameData(), and map it to InsufficientWriteQuorum (HTTP 503) in
toObjectErr() so clients retry. Below-quorum outcomes already return
InsufficientWriteQuorum and are unchanged, as is the IncompleteBody
mapping for staging failures of client-disconnected uploads.

Feng Ruohang 358ab38fb0 fix: report a purged version as a delete marker only for stored markers
The exact-version purge path copies the looked-up DeleteMarker flag
into the DELETE response so that removing a delete marker keeps its
x-amz-delete-marker header. That flag is also set for a data version
whose purge is pending, because the lookup exposes such a version as
deleted for visibility. Retrying the purge after the replication
configuration was removed therefore answered with
x-amz-delete-marker: true and raised ObjectRemovedDeleteMarkerCreated
for a data version.

Only a stored marker carries no erasure layout; use that to decide the
response identity. Found by the adversarial review of the purge change.

Feng Ruohang 109d824e5f fix: retransmit and re-order Object Lock for SSE-C replicas (single erasure set)
Issue #120 routes an existing SSE-C replica through PutObjectHandler and
NewMultipartUploadHandler. On main those handlers assigned the incoming retention
and legal hold directly, without the source-timestamp ordering #111 added to
CopyObjectHandler and without persisting the ordering timestamps, so in
active-active replication a retransmit carrying an older value could overwrite a
destination version's newer lock state.

Share #111's ordering decision as applyReplicatedObjectLock in
cmd/bucket-object-lock.go and call it from CopyObject, PUT and multipart
initiation. A request that is not an actual trusted replica keeps ordinary write
semantics (a validated value is applied and stamped now); only a real replica
update is ordered against the stored version, so a marker-only peer write no
longer drops a validated hold or default retention. CopyObject keeps its SSE-C
key-rotation encMetadata reconciliation inline. putReplicationOpts now emits a
stored retention ordering timestamp even when the value keys are absent, so a
removal recorded on the retransmit PUT path still replicates onward. replicateAll
marks Failed and carries the error when putReplicationOpts fails.

The handler decision is made against the version as it stands then, which a
concurrent lock update can outrun before the write commits, and for multipart
across the whole initiation-to-completion span. Close that window under the
object write lock the receiving erasure set holds: a trusted SSE-C replica full
write sets ObjectOptions.ReplicaLockReconcile, and erasureObjects.PutObject and
CompleteMultipartUpload re-run the ordering (reconcileStoredObjectLock, which
orders retention and legal hold independently by their reserved timestamps)
against the destination version read on that set before committing. Persisted
upload metadata records the null version as an empty VersionID, so completion
looks that up as the null version rather than the latest. The reconcile runs only
against an existing version; a not-found destination keeps the write's own
accepted lock, including a pre-upgrade upload that persisted values without
ordering timestamps, and a non-not-found read error fails the write. Scoped to
the SSE-C paths this issue enables; CopyObject is left as #111 wrote it.

Scope: this orders Object Lock against the destination version under the write
lock and is correct for a single erasure set. A multi-pool deployment -- where a
version can have duplicate copies across pools, object ModTime ties do not track
per-field lock timestamps, and the object namespace lock is per-pool -- needs a
cross-pool lock-safe reconcile and is deliberately out of scope here, tracked in
pgsty/silo#TBD-multipool-lock.

Tests: TestAPISSECReplicaRetransmitObjectLockOrdering and its multipart sibling;
TestAPIReplicaMultipartNewerHoldSurvivesCompletion and
TestReplicaPutObjectLockReconcileUnderWriteLock (a hold or retention reaching the
version after the handler decision, or after multipart initiation, survives the
commit; a pre-upgrade upload on an absent version keeps its lock);
TestReplicaLockReconcileNullVersion (a null-version completion reconciles the null
version, not a coexisting UUID version, and an absent null version keeps its
accepted lock); TestAPIReplicaMarkerOnlyAppliesObjectLock; TestReplicaStoredLock;
the timestamp-only putReplicationOpts round trip; and the retransmit, exemption
and target-head tests. The #111 CopyObject replica suite and the existing #120
suite stay green, as do the PUT/multipart handler and object-layer regression
suites. Compatibility: the shared helper preserves #111's CopyObject behavior; a
non-replica PUT or multipart initiation that sets Object Lock now also stamps the
reserved ordering timestamp, matching CopyObject since #111; only trusted SSE-C
replica writes take the in-lock reconcile.

Feng Ruohang 9dd1dc172d fix: restore the merrs tag on dangling-object deletion audit records
joinErrs ranged over its own empty accumulator string instead of the
errs slice, so the loop body never executed and the function
unconditionally returned "". Its only caller feeds the merrs tag of the
DeleteDanglingObject audit event, so every dangling deletion was
recorded without the per-drive metadata errors: the record showed what
was deleted but not which drives errored or why quorum was lost.

Range over errs instead. The existing separator logic is already right
once the loop runs, since a leading nil error appends "<nil>" and every
later element gets its comma. Upstream's open minio/minio#21580 fixes
the same bug with a strings.Builder rewrite, not taken here: the
function runs once per dangling deletion over a drive-count-sized
slice, and the one-word change is the entire defect.

Anis Eleuch 079d64c801 DeleteObjects: Send delete to all pools (#172) (#20821)
Currently, DeleteObjects() tries to find the object's pool before
sending a delete request. This only works well when an object has
multiple versions in different pools since looking for the pool does
not consider the version-id. When an S3 client wants to
remove a version-id that exists in pool 2, the delete request will be
directed to pool one because it has another version of the same object.

This commit will remove looking for pool logic and will send a delete
request to all pools in parallel. This should not cause any performance
regression in most of the cases since the object will unlikely exist
in only one pool, and the performance price will be similar to
getPoolIndex() in that case.
